I have always sewed, but it was not until 2003 when my granddaughters were very small that I became interested in fine sewing. I was introduced to Carrickmacross lace in 2012. Subsequently, I designed a child’s collar using Carrickmacross lace for the 2013 SAGA Design show and was awarded Best of Show. I was then fortunate enough to travel to Ireland where I met and was taught further skills by Mary O’Neill, an award-winning Irish lace maker. Mary has continued to mentor me, and I am pleased to be able to offer these classes as an enjoyable way to begin a lace making journey.
